Overview

About Static Forms

Static Forms is a form backend for developers, founders, and agencies who want working website forms without maintaining a submission server. It connects the forms you already design to email delivery, spam filtering, a submission dashboard, and the tools your team uses. Use it for contact pages, sales inquiries, quote requests, feedback, or lead capture on static websites and frontend applications.

Getting started follows a familiar HTML workflow: create an account, obtain your form API key, point the form action at the Static Forms submission endpoint, and include the key in the form. You can keep control of your markup, styling, and site framework. Plain HTML submissions work without a JavaScript dependency, while developers who prefer a custom experience can integrate the API into their existing frontend flow.

Static Forms helps with the work that begins after someone clicks Submit. Built-in spam filtering screens incoming messages, and additional CAPTCHA and honeypot options provide extra protection. Email delivery brings legitimate inquiries to your inbox, while the dashboard provides a place to review stored submissions. Features and retention depend on the selected plan, so teams can choose the setup that matches their workflow.

For connected workflows, Static Forms supports webhooks and integrations including Google Sheets, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Notion, Airtable, Mailchimp, and Zapier. Availability varies by plan. Conditional form rules can route submissions based on the values people enter, helping teams direct different types of inquiries to the appropriate destination. File uploads support workflows where a message needs an accompanying document or other attachment.

Optional AI Reply can answer incoming inquiries using a knowledge base supplied by the business. This is useful when visitors ask recurring questions already covered in your documentation or FAQs. AI Reply is available on paid plans and uses separate usage credits. Traditional auto-responder emails are also available for teams that need a consistent confirmation message after a submission.

Developers can connect Static Forms to sites built with React, Next.js, Vue, Astro, Hugo, Jekyll, or other tools that produce HTML forms. Agencies can use the same backend approach across different client websites while keeping the visual design of each site independent. A visual form builder is available for creating an embeddable form from the dashboard, and a WordPress integration supports teams working across both WordPress and static sites.

Static Forms offers a free plan alongside paid subscriptions for larger volumes and additional capabilities. Start with a simple contact form, then add integrations, routing, uploads, or AI replies as needed. The aim is straightforward: collect useful submissions, reduce inbox noise, and make it easier to respond to the people contacting your business.
