Overview

About Macy

HeyMacy.ai is an AI-powered personal assistant designed to live inside Apple's iMessage rather than requiring users to install another productivity app. Instead of opening dashboards, checking multiple apps, or managing dozens of notifications, users simply text Macy like they would a friend. The platform connects to services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, WhatsApp, Robinhood, and more than 500 additional applications, allowing it to monitor important events and proactively notify users when action is needed.

The core idea behind Macy is that AI should reach out first instead of waiting for prompts. For example, if a flight is delayed, a meeting changes, a portfolio experiences significant movement, or an important message appears in a group chat, Macy sends a text message before the user even thinks to check. This proactive approach aims to reduce information overload by filtering only the events that truly matter while ignoring unnecessary notifications.

Unlike traditional chatbots that only answer questions, Macy is built as an agentic AI assistant capable of taking actions after receiving user approval. It can reschedule meetings, draft and send emails, summarize long WhatsApp conversations, retrieve stored documents, remember personal preferences, and automate workflows across connected applications. Sensitive actions always require confirmation, typically through a simple "yes" reply in iMessage, providing a balance between automation and user control.

Another major feature is persistent memory. Macy remembers details shared over time, such as travel preferences, favorite seating choices, gift ideas, recurring tasks, or important personal dates. This allows the assistant to become more personalized with continued use rather than treating every conversation as a fresh interaction. Users can also save documents, notes, and files, then retrieve them instantly through natural language requests inside the same messaging thread.

Automation is another key strength of the platform. Macy supports standing rules that continuously monitor connected services. Instead of manually checking markets, calendars, or inboxes, users can define ongoing conditions, and Macy will watch for those triggers in the background. When a predefined event occurs, the assistant proposes the next action, waiting for user approval before executing it. This enables continuous workflows without sacrificing oversight.

The product is designed to eliminate the friction associated with switching between multiple productivity tools. Rather than opening Gmail, WhatsApp, calendars, cloud storage, and financial apps separately, users interact with a single conversational interface inside iMessage. The experience resembles texting a personal chief of staff who monitors connected services around the clock and coordinates tasks on the user's behalf.

Currently, HeyMacy.ai is available through an early access program. According to the company, the service is free during this phase before transitioning to a planned subscription model priced at $19 per month. The platform positions itself as a personal AI that not only answers questions but actively manages everyday digital life by combining proactive notifications, intelligent memory, cross-app automation, and conversational interaction into a single messaging experience.
