Free OG image checker
Paste a link and see the card X, LinkedIn, and Facebook build from its Open Graph tags. No signup.
What the checker looks at
Social networks build a link card from a few tags in your page head. og:image is the picture, og:title is the headline, and og:description is the sentence under it. X also looks for twitter:card and will use twitter:image when that tag is set.
The usual launch-day problems are a missing image, a path like /og.png instead of a full https URL, a file that is not 1200×630, and a title that gets cut off. Fix the tag, deploy, and check the URL again here before you post it.
Questions
What is an OG image?
An OG image is the picture shown when your link is shared. It is set with the og:image meta tag. X, LinkedIn, and Facebook pair it with og:title and og:description to build the preview card.
What is the best OG image size?
Use 1200×630 pixels. That is Facebook's recommended size, and the same 1.91:1 image works on X and LinkedIn (LinkedIn also accepts 1200×627). Export a JPG, PNG, or WebP and put an absolute https URL in og:image.
Why isn't my social preview updating?
X, LinkedIn, and Facebook cache link cards. This checker reads the live page, so it can show a new image before those networks do. After you deploy the fix, refresh the cache with X's Card Validator, Facebook's Sharing Debugger, or LinkedIn's Post Inspector, then share the link again.
Does this checker store my URL?
No. The page is fetched to read its tags, the result stays in your browser, and the URL is not saved.
