Gripe is a voice-first feedback widget built for solo SaaS founders during their most critical phase: their first 100 users. Most feedback tools force customers to type, and typing is friction. People abandon long forms, water down what they really think, and the richest product signal never reaches the founder. Gripe removes that friction by letting users speak their feedback out loud, the moment a problem happens, directly inside the product.
Here is how it works. You drop a single lightweight script onto your site. A discreet megaphone button appears. When a user clicks it, they choose to talk or type, and an automatic screenshot captures the exact context of what they were looking at. The whole experience is isolated in a Shadow DOM, so it never clashes with your styling and never blocks your site from loading.
Once feedback comes in, Gripe's AI pipeline takes over. Voice is transcribed, then every piece of feedback is cleaned up, clarified when it is too vague, and automatically categorized across UX, pre-sale, support, bug, and idea. If a complaint is unclear, the AI can ask a quick follow-up so you never end up with a useless "it doesn't work" with no context. The result is short, structured, actionable feedback instead of raw noise.
Everything lands in a clean team dashboard. You get the reworked one-line version of each feedback, plus the full context on demand: user identifier, approximate location from IP, time, device, and browser. You can export everything to CSV, and feedback is dispatched both per item and as aggregated insights so you can see patterns, not just isolated complaints.
Gripe is built with privacy first. Explicit consent is requested before any capture, data is minimized, no personal data goes into logs, and each company's data is strictly isolated. The widget is also hardened against spam from day one with rate limiting, a bot honeypot, and bounded payloads.
Who is it for? Indie hackers and solo founders shipping alpha and beta products, including the growing wave of people building on AI app builders like Replit, Bolt, Lovable, and v0. It is deliberately not a heavyweight support suite competing with Intercom or Zendesk. It is a focused wedge: capture more honest signal, faster, while you still have time to act on it.
Built by a solo founder, for solo founders. If you care about hearing what your first users actually think before they churn, Gripe is for you.
