Overview

About Export Frames

Export Frames is a free browser tool that extracts still images from a video without sending the file anywhere. You open the site, drop a video onto the page, and pull frames as PNG or JPG. The video is decoded on your device. It is never uploaded. There is no account to create, no watermark on the stills, and nothing to unlock before you can save a picture.

The formats you can drop in are MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, and AVI, up to 2 GB. That covers most screen recordings, phone clips, camera files, and edited exports. Because decoding stays in the browser, a large file does not have to travel to a server before you can look at a frame. You work with the player on your own machine, then you choose what to keep.

There are three ways to take frames. You can grab one frame by hand when the picture is exactly the one you want. You can take one frame every few seconds, which is useful when you need a rough sequence rather than every picture in the file. Or you can export every frame when you need the full set. The stills save as PNG or JPG, and you can also download them together as one ZIP so you are not saving a long run of files one click at a time.

People reach for a frame extractor when a video already contains the picture and they do not want to re-shoot it. A tutorial author can pull a clean still of a step. A designer can grab a reference frame from a walkthrough. A social post can use a single sharp JPG instead of asking someone to scrub a long clip. A storyboard can be a row of frames taken every few seconds. A bug report can include the exact frame where the interface broke. Export Frames is built for that job: stills out of a video you already have, in the browser, with the file staying on the device.

PNG keeps a lossless still, which matters when you will crop or annotate the picture later. JPG is smaller when you only need a preview or a quick share. The ZIP option packs whichever stills you exported so one download holds the set. You do not sign up to do this. The page does not add a watermark to the stills. The same free tool is what you use for one frame or for every frame.

Privacy follows from where the work happens. The video is decoded on your device and is never uploaded. That is the reason to run the extractor in the browser instead of a cloud converter. You are not creating an account, you are not handing the file to a remote queue, and you are not waiting on a watermarked preview. If the file is an MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, or AVI within the 2 GB limit, you drop it, choose one frame by hand, one every few seconds, or every frame, and save PNG or JPG stills or one ZIP.

Export Frames stays narrow on purpose. It does not host your video, it does not ask you to log in, and it does not stamp the stills. Drop an MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, or AVI up to 2 GB. Take one frame by hand, one every few seconds, or every frame. Save PNG or JPG stills, or one ZIP. The video is decoded on your device, never uploaded. Free, no account, no watermark.

If you only need a single still, pause on the moment and export that frame. If you need a loose sequence, take one frame every few seconds and download the ZIP. If you need the whole timeline as images, export every frame. Each of those paths uses the same page and the same local decode. Nothing about the free tool changes when the file is larger, as long as it stays within 2 GB and is one of the supported types: MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, or AVI.

The output is ordinary image files. PNG or JPG stills open in any editor, and a ZIP is just a folder of those stills. There is no watermark to crop out and no account wall before the download. That is the whole product: extract frames from a video in your browser and download PNG or JPG stills.
