The Passport Photo Maker is an online tool that turns a phone photo into a passport, visa or green card photo that meets the published requirements, and it checks the result before you pay. How it works: (1) Take a photo at home against a plain wall, at eye level. Any phone works. (2) Choose the document you are applying for. The tool crops and straightens the photo to that document's exact size, evens out the background and checks size, head height, eyes and expression, and lighting against the issuing authority's published specification. Fixable issues are fixed; the rest are flagged before you pay. (3) Download a digital file for online applications, or a digital file plus a 4 x 6 in sheet you can print at any photo counter. Documents covered: United States passport (2 x 2 in), United States visa for the DS-160 form (2 x 2 in), United States green card (2 x 2 in) and United States DV lottery (600 x 600 px); United Kingdom passport (35 x 45 mm); Schengen area visa (35 x 45 mm); Canada passport (50 x 70 mm, and the printed photo needs a studio stamp); India passport for DPC, SPC and CSC applications (45 x 35 mm) and India visa (2 x 2 in); Australia passport (35-40 x 45-50 mm, printed by a photo lab). Each measurement comes from the issuing authority's published specification, each guide shows the date it was last checked, and the guides link to their sources so you can verify them yourself. You pay only if you want the finished file: $4.99 for the digital photo, or $6.99 for the digital photo plus the printable 4 x 6 in sheet. It is a one-time payment per photo with no subscription, and there is no free-forever plan. If you are not satisfied, email within 14 days of paying for a full refund. Privacy: photos you upload are deleted from the servers within 24 hours. Files you buy are kept for one year so you can download them again. Visitors are counted with a one-way hash that changes every day, without cookies.
