## About MC Pixel Art

MC Pixel Art is a free, browser-based Minecraft pixel art generator. You drop in any photo or image, pick how wide the build should be in blocks, and it returns a block-by-block plan you can actually build in game. There is no signup, no account, no upload step and no ads. The whole conversion runs in a local Web Worker, so your image and your settings never leave your device. If you are the kind of person who checks, open the network tab while you convert something: nothing goes out.

The part most converters get wrong is the palette. Minecraft's block set keeps changing, and a tool built against an old block list will happily tell you to place blocks that do not exist in your version, or miss the ones that would have matched best. MC Pixel Art uses a versioned palette that spans 1.13 all the way through 26.2, and it covers both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. You choose the version you actually play, and the block list narrows to what you can really place. There are also survival-friendly options for when you do not want a build that assumes creative mode and unlimited resources.

Color matching runs in the OKLab color space rather than plain RGB distance. This matters more than it sounds. RGB distance treats color as three numbers and produces matches that are mathematically close but visually wrong, especially in skin tones, skies and gradients. OKLab is perceptual, so the block it picks is the block a human eye agrees is closest. Several dithering options, including Floyd-Steinberg, are available for smoother gradients when a flat nearest-block match would band badly.

Output is where a converter either saves you time or wastes it. MC Pixel Art gives you a PNG preview, a material list with exact block counts so you know what to gather before you start, a .schem file for WorldEdit, and a .litematic file for Litematica. If you prefer to place blocks by hand, there is a chunk-by-chunk build guide that splits the build into sections and tells you which block goes where and how much is left. That is the difference between building from a plan and squinting at a flat reference image next to your game window, losing your place every twenty blocks.

It is built for Minecraft players making pixel art or photo-based builds, for WorldEdit and Litematica users who want a schematic they can paste, and for builders and content creators who need a repeatable process rather than a one-off screenshot. Free, no signup, no ads.
